“People restored by God and the world restored through design.”

Chair of Trustees, EMI UK

Recently retired UK Director Dave Lambert put people first. He and his wife Jaz demonstrated God’s shepherd nature beautifully over their five years of service. They ushered in all our current staff, and embodied EMI UK’s vision to gather, send, and care.

We gather people to build God’s kingdom through design, we send them out to wherever the need is greatest, and we care for them from afar. We care for people through projects, and we care for the creation of which we are all stewards.

May the Good Shepherd help us work together to build a better world.

I was driving to an inspection for a project along the southern Oregon coast in 2005 when God gave me a hazy vision of how he might want to use me as a structural engineer.

Just a few years later, Alisha and I and our three boys, Brodie, Jonah, and Graysen launched to join the staff of EMI Uganda.

Across 15 years, I’ve experienced four EMI offices, dozens of projects and ministry opportunities, countless hours on airplanes and bumpy dirt roads, and living overseas in Uganda and the UK.

My role as COO in EMI Global now has me in the middle lane of my real passion—using the experiences and training God has given me to further His kingdom work around the world.

On that lonely mountain road in Oregon, how could I have known the path God would take us on? Yet He has shown us the path and He has been our hope, just as it says in our family’s favorite Bible verse, Psalms 25:4-5.

I am very excited and expectant about what God is doing in EMI Mexico!

I think we started in the best way by working on a project in Oaxaca, Mexico last month. We experienced how God allowed us to deeply understand the client's need and apply it to design.

I am convinced that God has great plans for this office and that He can use us to be a blessing for other ministries. It has been a long process, but the Lord has shown that He is on our side, opening doors and connecting us with the right people.

I firmly believe that God uses each person with their talents and abilities to show His grace and fulfill His mission here on Earth: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

And this is what I feel and see as we begin EMI Mexico.
