Partnerships

CEO John Dallmann on the state of EMI around the world

In my 13 years as CEO, I have seen God bless EMI with not only an amazing staff of engineers, architects, planners, administrators, and construction managers, but God has also partnered us with ministries full of incredible people doing remarkable things to advance the Gospel.

It is through partnership that we advance the Kingdom of God. Partnership with God, partnership with ministries, and partnerships across EMI.

As we come to the close of 2025, here are just a few of the phenomenal partnerships we have been blessed to be a part of this year.

Senegal: At EMI we are excited about the opportunity to partner with different granting organization to accomplish work we or our partner ministries wouldn’t otherwise be able to fund.

For the last year the Senegal team has partnered with such a granting organization to perform qualitative assessments covering 16 critical areas of infrastructure and services on 4 rural medical facilities in central Ghana.

With a team of 8 from Senegal, UK, US, and Ghana, I was excited to see the diversity brought to this project including the opportunity to bring in local Ghanan professionals.

The team is hopeful that with further grant funding they will be able to continue working with these hospitals to implement their recommendations.

Mexico and Canada: It’s exciting to see EMI partnering together across the globe. In early October, EMI Canada partnered with EMI Mexico on a project trip to Mongolia.

Together they will be developing a conceptual master plan for a Child Development Centre. Their vision is to support the holistic development of children through education, play, and exposure to the natural world, despite the region’s harsh winters.

Our Mexico team bundled up for the cold and said yes to taking on a project opportunity across the globe. It’s an expression EMI as ‘all people to all places’, as designers from different places and backgrounds work together to advance missions in Mongolia.

Uganda and MENA: The Uganda team continues their partnership with the Gem Foundation and they are soon to be wrapping up construction on the first part of their school project.

Through their work with the Gem Foundation, the Uganda team was connected to a similar ministry in Kitalya, Uganda. The team in Uganda is excited to partner with the MENA team to co-lead this master plan project.

Tunaweza’s mission is to empower children with various disabilities through therapy, education, and support to their families and communities. They currently rent space but dream of owning their own property to expand their services to schooling and accommodations for the children and families they serve.

This doesn’t happen all the time, but I think it’s special that this women-founded and women-led Ugandan ministry is being served by a women-led EMI project team.

Cambodia and QSI: With and ongoing partnership between EMI and Quality Schools International (QSI), EMI Cambodia has begun project management services for an arts & sciences building for an international school in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

This project is led by Daniel Phin, a recent fellowship program graduate recently returned from his office placement in Uganda. I know he is looking forward to expanding his project management skills in this unique way.

International schools like this are an integral part of mission communities around the world and EMI is honored to partner with QSI over the past few years to conduct safety and building inspections on schools around the world.

WASH: EMI is continuing to grow beyond the walls in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) community development services. To date, we have received 96% of our goal of $500k in Growing Globally funding to support this effort! This is enabling us to position existing offices to engage deeper with WASH needs locally.

In addition to our on-going work in Alaska, we have started work on a water treatment plant and two piped water systems in Cambodia, as well as a water filter project at a hospital in Papua New Guinea.

We are also planning new WASH program locations that we anticipate beginning to launch in 2026 to serve some of the most complex WASH needs and hardest to reach locations around the world. At the end of October, I traveled to Papua New Guinea to explore the possibilities of initiating a WASH programme there.

This journey of partnership has opened up new pathways for advancing the Kingdom of God. The Gospel in word and deed in unfolding in new ways and in new places to the Glory of the Father.

I am grateful for EMI’s staff, volunteers and donors that make this unique ministry possible. And we are truly blessed with wonderful partner ministries and needy communities that benefit from the technical skills we bring.

Thank you for your partnership and faithful prayers.
