core-values

EMI is a Christian nonprofit organization founded on the idea that architects, engineers, and design & construction professionals have an important part to play in world missions: We design and build projects that bring hope to communities around the world.

“People restored by God and the world restored through design.”

Since 1982, our worldwide mission is to develop people, design structures, and construct facilities which serve communities and the Church—facilities like hospitals, schools, water systems, and more.

Together, we are designing a world of hope.

Director, EMI Mexico

Since launching in Mexico three years ago, our team has grown in both size and experience!

It is so exciting to serve alongside a deeply experienced team of national professionals whose passion and expertise have allowed us to come alongside ministries of all shapes and sizes. There's something truly energizing about being able to say, “Yes, we can help!”

We give thanks to God for every detail of His grace and provision; learning to trust Him more deeply and leaning into His love that makes our path straight. Prov. 3:5-6

It is a privilege to be a part of EMI since first volunteering in early 2009. I was inspired to join staff after experiencing EMI teams serving client ministries through a network of design professionals, while also intentionally investing in the lives of interns. God gave me a desire to work in West Africa, and it has been an incredible blessing to participate in launching and working with EMI Senegal over the past decade. Seeing God at work in the lives of staff, interns, volunteers, and partners is a huge encouragement to me and my family. I am excited to continue serving and growing as God provides opportunities to connect people with projects that advance His kingdom, specifically in West Africa!

This is a recent picture of me and Tony standing at John o’ Groats, Scotland. The signpost reminds me of what we now do with EMI UK. We walk with others as they seek what direction God may be calling them to, supporting them and their families in their role within EMI, and helping them to feel assured and encouraged of His leading in their work.

For the past 30 years we have lived and worked in countries far from our UK origins, and though sometimes the moves seemed out of our control we have always been able to look back and see how God has faithfully led us. We remain thankful for the experiences and new friends made along the way.
