EMI uses terms Global South and Global North as defined by UN, with few exceptions.

We recently strengthened our care efforts by hiring a full-time program manager in the Global office, appointing care coordinators in each EMI office, and engaging external specialist resources.

This dedicated team is actively developing and implementing new strategies to promote the wellbeing of our personnel, freeing them to engage wholeheartedly in EMI’s mission of restoration.

EMI’s projects in 2025

John Sauder

A word from John Sauder, EMI Global Programmes Director

This past year has seen expanding opportunities for EMI in grant-funded programmes. These collections of funded projects are supporting ministries and communities in remote locations, often through the efforts of multiple EMI teams collaborating across complementary areas of service.

Grant-funded programmes enable EMI’s services to communities in need of water or to hospitals improving their quality of care, but they also bring a longer-lasting impact to the project beneficiaries.

Programme funds are often allocated for community engagement and for training in areas like operational planning and equipment maintenance. This extra investment helps to sustain transformational environments that demonstrate the hope of the gospel for many years to come.

A word from Henry Watts, EMI Global Finance Director

Whether funds come from donors, design and construction fees, or grants to help implement projects, one of EMI's goals is to steward money for kingdom impact.

Thank you—to those who donate, volunteer, or pray—and to those ministries and foundations that trust EMI for design and construction services!

For EMI USA, Volunteer Hours are valued to calculate the Contributed Services portion of EMI Income.

This year we have begun to visit all of our offices to review financial accounting, reporting, and controls. Even though this work sounds boring, our office directors appreciate seeing a clearer financial picture for their offices. These reviews help us to report these numbers back to you, our partners, with confidence.
