There have been several stops for EMI's journey in Latin America. It hasn't always been smooth, but the goal of serving the Latin Church remains the same. EMI USA's Randy Larsen was involved from the beginning in Guatemala City, Jorge Aguero launched EMI's newest location in Mexico this year, and Olivia Iekel joined EMI Nicaragua after several years with a local NGO.

Local Design Professionals
Sketches of participant faces

Over the last decade, local design professional staff have become vital to EMI, but it wasn't always so. EMI USA’s Gary MacPhee has seen the paradigm shift during his 25 EMI years. Former India staff architect Huberth Marak was EMI’s first full-time design professional staff member. And EMI Global Deputy HR Director Brittany Coulbert Adams was part of EMI Uganda’s growth in local design staff across 2011-16.
